Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup finely grated or shaved goat milk soap to nourish, cleanse, and detoxify the skin.
  • 2 tablespoons honey to hydrate, soothe, and heal with its antioxidants and antibacterial properties.
  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt, packed with lactic acid for exfoliation to leave your skin soft and supple.
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil for amazing hydration and moisture.
  • Optional: a few drops of your favorite skin-safe essential oil, like lavender or tea tree.

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the grated or shaved goat's milk soap with honey until well combined.
  2. Add in plain yogurt and coconut oil. Continue mixing until a smooth paste is formed.
  3. If desired, add a few drops of essential oil for added benefits and a pleasant aroma.
  4. Apply the mask evenly on clean skin. Take care to avoid the eye area.
  5. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes to allow the ingredients to work their magic.
  6. Gently rinse off the mask with lukewarm water and pat your skin dry.
  7. Follow up with Southern Natural Goat Milk Lotion for ultimate hydration.

Notes for Success

All you need to grate soap is a normal cheese grater or food processor. Just be sure to break it up if you're using a food processor to break your soap into chunks so you don't overtax the engine of your machine.

Coconut oil melts just above room temperature at 76°F, so if yours is still solid, gently warm it up in the microwave or on the stovetop. It will only take a few seconds to melt it.

If you don't have coconut oil or prefer not to use it, feel free to substitute extra virgin olive oil or your favorite skin-friendly oil, like jojoba.

If you aren't sure which essential oil to use, try your favorite Southern Natural soap and get all of the benefits without having to come up with your own blend. You really can't go wrong with any of our options, but here are some suggestions to inspire you:

  • For extra detoxification: Dead Sea Mud & Charcoal combines all the benefits of Dead Sea mud, activated charcoal, plus peppermint, eucalyptus, and rosemary essential oils to detoxify and purify the skin, while the oils in your mask will help deeply hydrate for glowing skin.
  • For relaxation, headaches, or stress relief: Lavender, Eucalyptus Grove, and Spa Fusion can help soothe your senses while you wait on your mask to do its work.
  • For sensitive skin: Castile Goat's Milk Soap is perfect for those of you who want to be extra gentle on your skin.
