At Southern Natural, our goat milk soap is made with a traditional soapmaking method called "cold processing" that produces excellent results. To do this, we mix fats, lye (sodium hydroxide), and liquid together and a chemical reaction called saponification occurs and makes soap. Our ingredients include high-quality food-grade plant oils and butters, goat’s milk, and essential oils, all packed with skin-loving benefits.

The Benefits of Goat’s Milk for Your Skin
Goat’s milk is chock full of vitamins, minerals, and proteins that are beneficial for your skin. It helps to moisturize, soothe irritation, and support a healthy skin barrier. Our soap is especially beneficial for those with dry or sensitive skin.
In addition to goat’s milk, we enhance our soaps with essential oils or fragrance oils to create a pleasant scent experience. Popular options include Lavender Goat Milk Soap for relaxation, Tea Tree Peppermint Goat Milk Soap for a refreshing cleanse, and Unscented Goat Milk Soap for those who prefer a simple, natural option.
Why Cold-Process Soap?

We use the cold process of soap-making instead of adding heat to speed up the chemical reaction. While the soap is curing, the lye is completely neutralized, leaving no trace behind. The curing process also allows excess water to evaporate, creating a harder bar of soap that will last longer in the shower.
Benefits of Cold-Process Soap:
- Natural glycerin to moisturize the skin
- Free from harsh detergents and synthetic ingredients
- Produces a creamy, luxurious lather
Patience Makes Perfect
We allow our soap to cure for six to eight weeks to ensure excellent quality and mildness. This slow-curing process makes for a gentle yet effective bar of soap that lasts longer and feels great on the skin. It may take a while, but this tried and true process creates an exceptional bar of soap, and we think it's worth the wait.
Our cold processed soap is nourishing and gentle, making it a fantastic choice for those with sensitive skin, rashes, eczema, or allergies. It’s even mild enough for a baby’s tender skin. Try our handmade goat's milk soap for yourself and see the difference. Your skin will thank you.
